Turtle Soup opens Friday!
(February 19-21 & 26-28, 2016) by local playwright Michael Wilhelm received its world premiere in 2011. This hilarious but absolutely true story is about the origin of Churubusco’s famed “Turtle Days”. In 1949 Gale Harris ruined his health, his farm and nearly his marriage by pursuing a giant turtle he claimed to have seen in a small lake on his land. His three cronies lend a hand, long-suffering wife Helen and son Vaughn try to keep the farm going, and a swarm of reporters descends on the town. A warm-hearted comedy that proves truth is
stranger than fiction.
Rated G for all audiences.
