Eve Hudson is a prisoner, trapped inside her own mind by severe autism. She has never spoken. Her widowed father, Tom, has placed her in a fine private institution, and hardly visits her. But an urgent summons from Eve’s teacher Kate brings him rushing to the school. Eve is communicating now, using “facilitated speech,” Kate says. She’s actually writing poetry! She just needs her dad’s signature on the book contract. Is this the miracle that Tom has been afraid to hope for? Or is it a dangerous delusion? This area premiere by Frank Higgins is rated G for all audiences.
